Ladies XI v T20: Sutton CC & South Nutfield CC

A massive well done to all the Godalming Ladies for hosting their first ever tournament. The sun was shining and the sky was blue. It was like a military operation organised by our commander Nikki. The previous evening Kelly was busy making three massive lasagnas and at 9.30 the club kitchen came alive to the smell of cooking. The club house was buzzing and the music was playing.
Everything went smoothly in the preparations, the grounds were marked out the stumps placed and the scoreboards, chairs and tables put in place.
Sutton and South Nutfield started to arrive and tea and coffees were on tap. The Captains all went of into the changing room to discuss teams.
We then had a minutes clapping to commemorate David. (A minute is a long time)! Thanks to Rocky for being our spokesperson and time keeper.
Nikki then read out the teams and play took place. It was a great atmosphere and the teams soon got to know each other.
There was certainly a lot of laughter and banter during play and team spirits were high.
After the first games we then had lunch, which was supplied by Sutton and South Nutfield, there was loads of different dishes to taste.
Two more games were played in the afternoon. The overall winners were Archies Ladies!
We then went into the club and a feast of chilli and lasagna was had by all. Medals were given out and the raffle took place.

All in all a great day, great atmosphere, great weather and great company.
Last but not least we raised £130 for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
