This summer, with all the tragedy that has been going on around us for the last few months, the ECB has asked us to think a little differently about our cricket teas. Due to Covid-19, we are not currently having teas (or any centrally provided snacks) to reduce the risk of transmitting the disease. The ECB has introduced a Tea-a-Thon and is asking everyone who is able to donate a grocery item to the local foodbank. Many of you will be aware of the collaboration between St Mark’s Foodbank and the Town Council and the introduction of the Community Store. I am sure many will also have been making donations to the weekly Trolley Tuesday project.
Godalming Cricket Club is simply offering a place to drop off donations on a Friday night when you come to cricket coaching. We will then get the donations along to the Community Store as a gift from Godalming’s Cricketers. Suggested items are those which might make up a Cricket tea- tea bags, long life milk, coffee, jam, tinned meats and fish, mayonnaise, pickle, biscuits and treats. Other items are also welcome. Please bring them along to the Clubhouse any (or every) Friday night when you come for your training session and we will pass them on. There will be a box on the wall for all your generous donations.
Please share any creative pictures/videos using the #CricketTea on social media!
With many thanks in advance,
Sarah Black and the Godalming Cricket Club team.
