#GetSetWeekend

This weekend sees our annual 'getting the ground' ready event as part of the ECBs national campaign: #getsetweekend. This year we have another long list of tasks and opportunities to improve our surroundings for everyone for the summer ahead of us. Please do join us from 10am on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend to enable us to tick all the jobs off the list.

Equipment needed:

If you have edging tools, spades, strimmers and alike please bring them and we'll add you to one of the 3 gardening teams we need to tidy up verges and edges outside the clubhouse and nets.

If you know your way around masonry drill bits & window catches, bring a screwdriver and our drill and we'll add you to the renovations team with some handyman jobs to complete.

If you are a demon cleaner, bring your rubber gloves, bleach, stiff brushes, cobweb brushes, cleaning cloths and we'll add you to one of the 4 cleaning teams we need for the changing rooms deep clean.

If you have a small amount of sand and cement you could donate, we've flagstones that would be very grateful.

There is a huge amount of lifting and carrying to be done also as we have lots of stuff that needs moving to be able to put the teams to work. Dump runs could also be required and helpful.

There will be something for everyone to do and I'd like to say a huge thank you to all those that have volunteered already. We hope to capture some footage of the day which we'll share with everyone after the event on our socials.

But we are not done there!

The main #getset project has a whole list of task and a project plan and timeline of its own. A small team have been working on the project to get our digital scoreboard mounted on the pavilion hence the scaffolding some of you may have seen. The team may need extra help on the day also. If we have any roofers/velux experts in our membership do also let us know! That's a whole other project we have with the scaffolding up that we would like to tackle. Ideal for those that have their own PPE for being on roofs!
